An old customer list doesn't automatically permit every outreach channel.
Overview
How it works
Past customers already know your work, but they drift away. They move on to the next thing, forget your name or assume you're booked up. A friendly, well-timed note is often all it takes to start a conversation again.
We run reactivation campaigns that reach the right past customers through the right channels. Before anyone is contacted, your list is checked: who you have a lawful basis to email, who gave prior consent for texts, and who has opted out. People who shouldn't be contacted are left out, automatically.
Every message uses wording you approved. Each campaign is prepared and shown to you before it is sent, and replies come straight back to your team. When someone replies, books or opts out, their messages stop.
An old customer list doesn't automatically permit every kind of outreach, so consent and suppression are built into how the system works. Scope and price are confirmed in writing after a short conversation.
What it looks like
A typical walkthrough
For example, here's how a spring reactivation campaign runs for a landscaping company with a few hundred past customers.
The list is checked
Your customer export is matched against your records. Customers who opted out in the past are removed, and each remaining customer is marked for email, text, both or neither based on the consent and lawful basis on file.
You pick the audience
You choose customers who had a cleanup last spring but haven't booked this year. The system shows how many can be emailed, how many can be texted and how many are excluded, and why.
You approve the message
A short draft offers spring cleanup scheduling and invites a reply. You edit one line and approve it. Opt-out wording and your postal address are added automatically.
It runs in safe mode first
A dry run shows every message exactly as it will be sent, to whom, and when, without anything leaving the system.
Messages go out at good times
Emails go out in the morning. Texts go only to customers who gave prior consent, and quiet hours hold any that fall in the evening.
Replies come to your team
A customer replies asking for a Thursday visit. Their sequence stops, and your office gets an alert to book them. Another texts STOP and is suppressed at once.
You see the results
Your daily summary shows messages sent, replies, bookings recorded and opt-outs.
Under the hood
How our system does it
Consent recorded per channel
Each customer record keeps separate flags for text consent and marketing email consent, with the time consent was given. Marketing email goes only to customers with an opt-in or another lawful basis you've confirmed. Texts go only to customers who gave prior consent for that phone number.
Suppression checked before every send
Unsubscribes, STOP replies and manual suppressions go on one list that is checked on every attempt, not just at the start of a campaign. Suppressions are never purged, so a person who opted out stays opted out.
Owner-approved templates
A campaign uses only templates marked approved, with your name recorded as approver. Placeholders are filled only from stored records. AI can help draft the wording, but drafts wait for your one-click approval in the dashboard before anything is sent.
Required wording added automatically
Every marketing email carries your business name, postal address and a one-click unsubscribe link. A campaign can't be sent until a postal address is set. Every text ends with "Reply STOP to opt out."
Signed one-click unsubscribe
Unsubscribe links are signed and tied to your business, and mail clients can use the standard one-click unsubscribe header. Opening the link shows a confirm button, so automated link scanners can't unsubscribe anyone by mistake.
Quiet hours and stop rules
Texts and follow-up emails that fall in quiet hours wait until they end, in your time zone. A reply, a new inquiry, a booking or an opt-out stops the sequence, and the rule is checked again right before each step goes out.
Limits, retries and replay
Daily email and monthly text limits keep a campaign from sending more than you set. Each message has a fixed key, so a retry never sends twice. Failed sends show on your dashboard and can be replayed after the cause is fixed.
Kill switch and dry-run testing
One switch holds every outgoing message without losing anything queued. Without live credentials, or in safe mode, every send is recorded as a dry run, and a message is only marked sent when the email or text provider accepted it.
Works with
What it does
What it does
List review
Checks your past-customer list for duplicates, opt-outs and missing consent before anyone is contacted.
Channel eligibility
Marks each customer as eligible for email, text, both or neither, based on the consent and lawful basis on file.
Audience selection
Lets you target past customers by service, last job date or other stored details.
Approved campaigns
Prepares campaign messages from your approved templates and holds them for your sign-off.
Timed sending
Sends in steps, respects quiet hours and stays within the limits you set.
Reply handling
Stops messages for anyone who replies or books, and alerts your team to follow up.
Opt-out handling
Honors unsubscribe links and STOP replies at once and keeps those customers suppressed for good.
What it can do for you
Why it helps
Reconnect with people who know you
Past customers hear from you at a useful time, with a clear and easy way to reply.
Use your list responsibly
You reach the people you're allowed to reach, through the channels they agreed to, and no one else.
Fill quieter weeks
Seasonal reminders give past customers a reason to book again when your calendar has room.
Protect your sender reputation
Clean lists, honored opt-outs and sensible limits help keep your email and text numbers in good standing.
Less manual follow-up
Your team spends time on the replies, not on building lists and sending messages one by one.
What you control
Your rules, your approvals
- Which past customers are included in each campaign
- The wording of every message, approved by you before sending
- Which channels are used, within the consent on file
- Send timing, quiet hours and daily or monthly limits
- Who receives reply alerts
- The kill switch that pauses every campaign at once
Who it's for
Is this a good fit?
- Service businesses with repeat or seasonal work, like lawn care, cleaning or maintenance
- Owners with a list of past customers they haven't been in touch with
- Businesses that want to stay on the right side of email and texting rules
- Probably not the right fit if you want to text or email a purchased list, or people who never agreed to hear from you
How we work
From first conversation to live
Discovery
We look at your customer list, how consent was collected and which past customers you want to reach. Scope and price are confirmed in writing.
Setup on your business profile
We import your list onto your business profile, record consent per channel, apply existing opt-outs and set up your templates, quiet hours and limits.
Test in safe mode
We run the campaign as a dry run so you can review every message, every recipient and every exclusion before anything is sent.
Go live
After your approval, the campaign sends in steps and we watch replies, opt-outs and failures with you.
Ongoing review
We review results with you and plan the next campaign, keeping suppression and consent records up to date.

FAQ
Questions owners ask
Can we contact everyone on our old customer list?
Not automatically. Email needs an opt-in or another lawful basis, and texts need prior consent for that number. We review your list with you and only include people you're allowed to contact on each channel.
What if we don't know who gave consent?
Then those customers aren't texted. Depending on your records and lawful basis, they may still be eligible for email with a clear unsubscribe option. We go through it with you during setup, and you make the final call on your obligations.
Do I approve every message?
Yes. Campaigns use only templates you approved, and each campaign waits for your sign-off before sending. You can also preview the full send as a dry run.
What happens when someone opts out?
They're suppressed right away, their remaining messages are cancelled, and they stay on the suppression list permanently. That applies to email unsubscribe links and texted STOP replies alike.
Will this bring in a set number of bookings?
We can't promise bookings, revenue or response rates. We make sure the right people hear from you, in the right way, and that every reply reaches your team quickly.
Can we stop a campaign once it has started?
Yes. One switch pauses every outgoing message. Queued messages are held and only resume when you switch back on.
